Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng on April 12 congratulated the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s new leader Kim Jong-ul on being elected first secretary of the Korean Workers’ Party.
The Party’s fourth national conference held on April 11 also named Kim’s father, Kim Jong-il, who died last December, as its “General Secretary for eternity”.
